Happy First Day of Summer Recess!
I have to start by thanking you all for a great year! We've had a lot of fun and learned a lot together. Your generous class gifts are icing on a beautiful cake!
Fourth grade and some wonderful teachers await! I know they will be as delighted with our children as I am. I will miss our class and families! Many of you have asked about some extra support for the summer transition. Here are some links that will help review important basic reading and writing skills. The math links were selected to push children forward in the upcoming year.

Week 39: Last full week
Funny how fast the year goes! We are now in the process of finishing up the school year. Students will begin bringing things home so please empty out your child's book bag daily next week. Your child should have their blue homework folder each day in their book bag but everything else should be taken out to keep or recycle at home. We will try not to send home all papers but some special projects and extra supplies will come home next week.
Here's what to expect next week:
Here's what to expect next week:
- We have one last project next week. As part of our African studies, we will make masks! We will paint them on Thursday so please dress your child comfortably with clothes that can stand to get paint on it.
- We have finished our last unit in Math and you will receive the last math test on Monday. For the remainder of the year, we will review certain skills that are essential for future use.
- On Friday, we will have an end of year celebration. This will include crafts and some games as well as a movie. Please send you child with an extra snack.
Have an excellent weekend and Happy Fathers Day to all our special caretakers!

Week 38
We are just three short weeks away from the end of the school year. There are still activities to be done and learning to do as we make the transition to our new classes.
Please keep an eye out for any materials that belong to the class. If your child has borrowed any books from the class library, please remind them to have the books in their book bag so it can come to school with them. Many children need books to keep up their reading habits and enter the next class without the summer lag.
