Week 30

This week in Makers Space, we delved deeper into simple machines by designing a crane for the purpose of lifting object. In these pictures, the kids are working on drawing blue prints to build their  cranes.

Here's what is happening next week:

  • With the ELA test over, we are returning to our reading of Biographies. By examining the lives of extraordinary people, we will develop a better understanding of themes by looking at how the subject has overcome challenges.
  • We are headed to the Armory on Tuesday
  • Looking ahead, the state Math test will take place on the Wednesday and Thursday of the week we return from Spring break. To help students stay sharp, please encourage your child to practice the multiplication/ division facts for a few minutes each day. It might also be helpful to check some of the links listed in previous posts.

April 5

Apologies for the late notice.
Our children worked very hard this week and showed exceptional resilience during their first State Test experience. To celebrate their efforts and end our unit on China, we are going to watch Kung Fu Panda on Friday afternoon. The children have asked to wear pajamas and bring a small snack and it is an option they have.
Thank you for your attention to this!
