Week 23 and MidWinter Recess

 This week started with out Dance Enrichment which has been very fun for all of us! We have been enjoying many dances from Aron's the world and we today we got to try a little meringue.

Here's what to expect this week:

• We will meet with our Buddies on Tuesday. We will share a Valentine' Day craft with them. Some children have planned to share Valentine's with classmates. Please keep in mind that we have 28 students.
• We will finish our math work with Comparing Fractions by Friday. To help your child with more support in mastering this challenging skill, try the followinggames on our IXL math games link:

• Schools will be closed for MidWinters Recess from February 20 to February 24.

Week 22

Thank you for coming into Family Friday this week! The flags turned out great! Once the flags are mounted in a frame, it will become a gorgeous collage. I look forward to displaying our work at the Art Auction.

Your child has the Chapter 8 math test returned to them today. While many children are grasping the concept of a fraction, this concept is a challenging one since children are being challenged to think of numbers that are parts and different than regular counting numbers in many ways.

There are some games on the IXL Math games link that will be helpful to anyone who needs some extra practice. When you click on the link, look on the section on the right hand side called UNDERSTANDING FRACTIONS. The games that best support our learning are:

• Please keep in mind that we will have Dance again on Monday. encourage your child to dress comfortably for movement and remind girls not to wear tights.
